With the start of a brand new day, the sun rises up to the cloudless sky and a light breeze rustles the trees filled with colorful leaves. However, even amidst this beautiful scenery, what stood out the most was a large, crystal blue house owned by a rather wealthy Alolan family; it towered over the other houses in the neighborhood, like an emperor staring down at their subjects from atop their regal throne. In her expansive yet tidy bedroom, Daniella, a rather posh and refined Alolan Vulpix at the young age of three, opens her eyes and stretches her arms; she then hops out of bed after a few more moments, her diaper crinkling from underneath her dark blue pajama bottoms. After leaving her bedroom and walking down a long flight of stairs, Daniella enters the kitchen and spots a plate of fluffy waffles, a bowl of assorted fruit, and a tall glass of milk on the table. Daniella plops onto a chair and cuts up her waffles, periodically sipping her glass of milk in between bites. As she continues eating, Alicia walks into the kitchen, nodding at the Vulpix and greeting her with a gentle smile. “Good morning, Daniella.” the Alolan Ninetales says as she walks up to her. “Good morning, Mum.” she nods politely and kisses her mother on the cheek before continuing to eat her breakfast. While Daniella finishes up her breakfast, Alicia slightly pulls down her daughter’s pajama bottoms and pulls the back of her diaper open, looking inside for a brief moment before letting go. “Good, you’re dry this morning.” she says approvingly. “Now let’s go to the bathroom so you can try and use the potty again.” Daniella nods and gets up from the chair, grabbing her silverware and washing it in the sink. She then grabs her mother’s hand and they start walking to the bathroom, approaching a dark blue training potty once they step inside. The Alolan Ninetales pulls down Daniella’s pajama bottoms, revealing her diaper with sky blue outlines and light blue snowflake patterns scattered around it. Once she undoes the diaper, the Vulpix plops onto her training potty and looks up at her mother for a brief moment before shifting her focus to the task at hand. “Mmmph....mmmmph...” Daniella grunts and slightly shifts around as she tries to deposit something into the potty, but nothing comes out. The Vulpix pushes and strains some more, but the end result remains the same. “Mum, I’m trying to go potty but nothing’s coming out. I’m pushing a lot, but I don’t think I have to go yet.” Daniella says. “Well, then you’ll have to push some more.” her mother replies. “Your younger cousin is going to meet you tomorrow, and it would be pretty embarrassing if you were still in diapers with someone a full year younger than you, right?” “I guess so...” the Vulpix reluctantly replies with a blush on her face. Daniella squirms and fidgets some more, her face turning red as she does a bigger push. Unfortunately, the potty remains empty in spite of her efforts. “Mum...nothing’s coming out.” Daniella says, slightly panting in exhaustion. “Can I just try again a little later, please?” “Alright then...” Alicia says with an annoyed sigh before picking Daniella up from the potty and putting her diaper and pajama bottoms back on. “Remember, you have to tell me when you need to go potty, okay?” “Of course, Mum.” she nods and walks out of the bathroom, heading back upstairs and returning to her bedroom. Upon entering the bedroom, Daniella opens up her large closet and takes out a sky blue dress, neatly laying it on the floor as she prepares to dress herself up. The Alolan Vulpix takes off her pajamas and puts the dress on, her diaper peeking out from it as she looks down at the dress and does a playful twirl. Satisfied with the way she dressed herself, Daniella then walks over to a set of drawers in a corner of her room and takes out a dark blue hair brush before walking to a large mirror in another corner of her room. With smooth strokes, she brushes her white and fluffy hair before moving on to her fluffier tail, brushing it until it’s smooth as silk. To top it all off, Daniella walks back to her closet and grabs a pretty blue bow, smiling as she gently places it on her head. “Pretty as can be!” the Vulpix says with a wide smile as she looks at herself in the mirror one more time. Daniella walks out of her bedroom and happily trots downstairs, excited to show her mother how well she dressed herself up. “Don’t I look pretty, Mum?” she says with a graceful curtsy. “You certainly do look pretty, dear.” the Ninetales says with an approving smile. “Potty training issues aside, at least my girl still knows how to make herself look presentable.” she adds, patting her on the head. Daniella’s smile slightly fades in response to what seemed like a backhanded compliment, but she tries not to dwell on it for too long. Taking note of the sunny day outside, the Vulpix walks out of the living room and steps into the rather expansive backyard, taking in the crisp morning air and happily accepting the sun’s warmth as its rays shine down on her; most Ice-types didn’t like spending their time in warm weather, but for Daniella it was something she greatly enjoyed. The Alolan Vulpix frolics around in the backyard, giggling as her feet sink into the soft grass with each step. After a few more moments, she steps into a large garden filled to the brim with blooming plants and luscious trees bearing assortments of ripe and brightly colored fruits. “Hello again, house garden!” Daniella says with a smile. Even though Daniella appreciated the ornate house and the many luxuries it offered, nothing topped the modest yet captivating beauty of the house garden, whether it be the bushels of blossoming flowers or the fruit trees generously offering nature’s nourishing gifts to her. Whether during the brightest of days or the darkest of nights, Daniella always made sure to make time for daily trips to the garden, as she saw them as great opportunities for relaxing and having time to herself; she never told her mother this, but these trips also served as a reprieve from Alicia’s well-intentioned but strict mannerisms. Daniella plops onto a wooden bench and takes in another breath of fresh air, her smile widening as she continues to adore the sight of the garden and its luscious vegetation. Eventually, she stands up and walks over to one of the fruit trees before grabbing a plump and ripe plum dangling from one of its branches. “Thank you, house garden, for giving so much to me yet demanding so little from me in return.” the Vulpix says before biting into the plum, sighing in satisfaction as its sweet juices envelop her taste buds. Once she finishes eating the plum, Daniella grabs a green watering can and walks around the garden, making sure no plant goes unwatered. She leaves the garden once the watering is done, but she doesn’t go back inside just yet, for the warm and pleasant day has now instilled a playful energy within herself. With a cheerful laugh, Daniella starts running around the grass, her dress bobbing up and down in response to her dynamic movements. After a few more moments, she gets on her knees and starts rolling in the grass, giggling and laughing before eventually laying on her back and looking up at the cloudless sky. However, she soon hears the sound of footsteps trotting on the grass and spots her mother looking at her disapprovingly. “Daniella, stop rolling on the grass like that. I didn’t buy you that dress just for you to get grass stains on it.” she says with a disapproving shake of her head. “Besides, you should know better than to be out in the sun for this long. We Ice-types aren’t the most fond of heat.” “Sorry, Mum...I was just having fun, and I actually quite enjoy the warm weather.” Daniella replies with a frown. “I know, dear, but you need to be more mindful about how you spend your free time.” the Alolan Ninetales says with a sigh. “How about you go back inside and practice on the piano, ok?” “Okay, Mum.” a smile returns on Daniella’s face and she walks back inside. The Alolan Vulpix walks into a large living room and approaches a grand piano, opening it up and sitting on the wooden stool with a loud crinkle. Daniella then opens up a light green songbook and flips through a few pages before placing it on the top of the piano. She rests her hands on the keys for a few moments and begins to play a slow and graceful melody; the soothing sounds of the piano fill the entirety of the house, all while a composed expression remains on Daniella’s face and her hands elegantly transition from key to key. Once she finishes the piece, a wave of silence comes over the house before it’s quickly replaced by the sounds of applause. “Well done, Daniella.” Alicia says with a smile of approval. “I’m glad these piano lessons are paying off.” Daniella nods in return, but it’s not long before she feels a sudden and intense pressure in her bladder. “Mum! I have to go potty!” she fidgets as she closes the piano and gets up from the stool. “Alright, let’s get you on the potty.” her mother says, grabbing Daniella by the hand and briskly walking her to the bathroom. Unfortunately, by the time they reach the bathroom, Daniella squirms and fidgets even more, feeling like her bladder is about to burst. PSSSSSSSSSHHHHH!! A loud hissing sound echoes throughout the bathroom and she feels her diaper start to swell up and sag as a notable warmth envelops it. The Vulpix whimpers and fidgets as she continues soaking up her diaper, causing the snowflake patterns to fade as it stains a rather dark shade of yellow and slightly leaks onto the floor. Daniella’s bladder soon empties and she feels her soggy diaper slosh between her legs as it droops beneath her dress and leaks onto the floor. “When I sit you on the potty, you don’t have to go, and yet when you tell me you have to go, you can’t even hold it in for a meager minute...” Alicia says, an annoyed scowl forming on her face. “Mum, I’m sorry!” Daniella looks up at her and her lip starts to quiver. “Please don’t be mad at me.” “Daniella, I’m not mad.” she says with a sigh of exasperation. “I just didn’t think you’d struggle this much with potty training, and it’s only a matter of time before tomorrow comes and your cousin is here.” All Daniella can do is look down at her soggy diaper and the small puddle beneath her in dejection, feeling like she had done a great disservice to her mother. “Well then, let’s get you cleaned up. Perhaps there’s still a little bit more time to get you out of diapers.” her mother says as she walks the Vulpix out of the bathroom. They soon make their way to Daniella’s room and walk upstairs, her diaper sloshing and swaying with each step. Once they enter the room, Alicia picks her up and lays her on the changing table; she quickly undoes the soggy diaper and lifts up Daniella’s legs, wiping her bottom before grabbing a clean diaper and securely taping it around her waist. “Now then, how about you make yourself some lunch while I clean up the bathroom.” she says before lifting Daniella up from the changing table and heading back downstairs. Daniella gives her newly diapered bottom a little wiggle before making her way to the kitchen, figuring that making some lunch would take her mind off of her mother’s degrading comments. The Vulpix walks over to the pantry and grabs two slices of bread before sliding over to the fridge and grabbing some ham and cheese. With all of that in hand, she walks over to the kitchen counter and places the food in it before grabbing two plates from one of the cupboards. After quickly whipping up a ham and cheese sandwich and cutting it into four quarters, she returns to the fridge and grabs an assortment of greens and vegetables, sprinkling them on the other plate and making a little salad to compliment her sandwich. Satisfied with her lunch, Daniella picks up the two plates and carries them to the table before grabbing a small fork and sitting down on a vacant chair. With great etiquette, the Vulpix takes small bites of her cut-up sandwiches and tries not to get any crumbs on her dress while she alternates between her sandwich and salad, as she certainly didn’t want another scolding from her mother about not getting her clothes dirty. Eventually, she finishes up her lunch and washes up the plates and silverware. Once that’s done, she turns around and spots her mother walking up to her. “Now that I’m done cleaning up the bathroom, how about we just relax for a little bit.” Alicia says with a gentle smile, seemingly in a better mood than before. “Okay!” Daniella says with a chipper smile. Her mother picks her up and walks over to the couch before sitting down and placing the Vulpix on her lap, gently stroking her head and lightly bouncing her. Daniella looks up at her and giggles happily, enjoying this bit of quality time with her mother. After some more time passes, Daniella gives her an affectionate nuzzle on the cheek and hops off her lap; she walks up to her bedroom and grabs a big teddy bear with a pink bow on its head before quickly returning downstairs. “Aww, you want me to watch you play with your teddy?” she asks. The Vulpix nods and gives the teddy bear a tight squeeze, smiling brightly as she walks around the living room with it. After walking a few laps around the living room, she sits on her crinkly rush and lightly tosses the teddy to herself, giggling every time she catches it. Daniella eventually stands back up, but she drops her teddy onto the ground when a sudden gurgle comes from her tummy and a sharp pressure hits her bowels. She wants to tell her mom that she needs to go potty, but the pressure only grows with each passing moment and all she can focus on is relieving the intense pressure pounding in her bowels. Instinctively, Daniella gets into a squat and clutches her tummy, her facing turning beet red as she grunts and strains. BRAAAAAAAP!! SPLOOOOORTCH!!! With a loud fart, Daniella’s bowels give way and a deluge of stinky solids plop into her diaper, causing it to rapidly expand and become lumpy as it slumps beneath her dress. The Vulpix grunts again and her tail hikes up some more; a warm and rancid mush piles into her diaper, staining it dark brown as a repulsive odor emanates throughout the house. “Phew...” Daniella can’t help but smile and sigh in relief, feeling much better now that the aching pressure has dissipated. Unfortunately, her mother wasn’t all too happy about this, and now she had reached her limit. Alicia stands up from the couch and puts her hands on her hips in disapproval, her smile now replaced with an icy glare. “You naughty naughty girl.” she says with a shake of her head. “You didn’t even bother to tell me when you had to go potty and here you are purposefully soiling yourself.” “No! Mum! I was going to tell you that I had to go, but- Daniella tries to explain herself, but it does nothing to impede her mother’s angry rant. “You’re a well-mannered Pokémon of articulate speech and many talents, and yet potty training of all things is something you can’t be bothered to master. I raised you to be a refined young lady, did I not? Because there’s certainly nothing refined about pooping in your pants and expecting others to clean up after your own messes. Aren’t you embarrassed about being stuck in diapers? Don’t you understand how embarrassing it will be for me when the other family members realize that your potty training skills are just as poor as those of your cousin who’s a full year younger than you and far less mature than you?” As Daniella bears the brunt of this rant, a seething anger boils inside of her, and the scolding and degrading comments spat at her throughout the day make her reach her own limit; she certainly wasn’t going to let these slanderous insults go uncontested, and now she wanted to give her mother a piece of her own mind. “Shut your mouth! You pompous and selfish upstart!” the Vulpix yells with an angry stomp of her foot. “Why do you have to keep making things about yourself?” This response only causes her mother’s icy glare to intensify, as she certainly didn’t approve of such remarks being directed at her. “Daniella! How dare you say such words to your own mother!” she replies. “Words that YOU taught me!” Daniella retorts as she sticks her tongue out at her. “You’re the one who raised me to be oh so articulate, right?” “That’s it! Go upstairs and head straight to your room! I won’t tolerate this unladylike behavior any longer!” “Fine! I have better company in my room anyways!” she grabs her teddy and walks towards the stairs, but not before turning around and getting one last remark in. “Besides, if there’s anyone being unladylike here, it’s you, Mum!” she points an accusatory paw at the Ninetales before stomping up to her room, too angry to be concerned about the lumpy, poopy diaper slumping between her legs. Silence fills the halls of the lavish household as their argument comes to a close, but Daniella’s last remark continues to linger in her mother’s mind. “She’s the one who needs to learn not to be so inconsiderate to me. Perhaps I should punish her when I go to check on her.” Alicia says to herself. However, that final remark continues pounding in her head in spite of this statement. “Well, maybe punishing her would be a bit much, but she still needs to learn her lesson either way.” As more time passes, all of the remarks he she made at Daniella today suddenly rush back into her mind; the way she scolded Daniella for playing on the grass, the way she degraded her for having accidents, and the way she demanded Daniella to not be an embarrassment to the family when she ends up meeting her cousin replay in her head. “Oh....what am I doing?” the Ninetales mutters remorsefully, tears forming in her eyes as she comes to the realization that she was the one in the wrong. “I’m so focused on raising Daniella to be a mature and refined lady that I’m not allowing her to make mistakes, not allowing her to be a kid. I need to set this right.” The Alolan Ninetales makes her way upstairs and enters Daniella’s room, trying her best to ignore the rancid odor coming from her diaper. “Are you here to yell at me some more?” Daniella asks her with a groan. “No, sweetie, I’m here to apologize to you.” Alicia replies. “I’ve realized that I’ve been putting far too much pressure on you. I reckon those comments I made were pretty hurtful, weren’t they?” “Mmhm...” she replies with a frown. Alicia then dips her head and heaves a regretful sigh. “You’re only three years old, and yet here I am demanding so much from you as if you’re a fully grown adult. I just want you to be the best Pokémon you can be, but it’s only now that I’ve realized how overbearing I’ve been about it. Oh...can you forgive me for my foolishness?” Daniella nods and gives her a hug, the Vulpix’s frown now being replaced with a smile. “Of course I can forgive you, Mum!” she says in response. Alicia smiles and hugs Daniella tightly, nuzzling her cheek and gently stroking her back. “Daniella, forget all of those things I said about needing to be potty trained right now and about me not wanting you to be an embarrassment when you meet your cousin tomorrow. I just want you to focus on having fun with them, and I promise I’ll try my best to not be so strict.” “Okay, Mum!” she says cheerfully. “Well, since that’s all settled now, how about I change you into a clean diaper.” Alicia says. The Vulpix nods affirmatively and she’s picked up and laid on the changing table. Alicia then carefully undoes the dirty diaper and plops it in the trash before lifting up Daniella’s legs and cleans up her bottom very thoroughly, using multiple wipes to clean off the remnants of the large mess she made. Once that’s done, the Ninetales grabs a container of powder and powders up her daughter’s bottom before snugly taping a clean diaper around her waist. “There, now you’re nice and clean.” Alicia says with a gentle smile. “Is there anything you want to do now?” she asks. “I want to visit the garden again, Mum. Can we go outside together?” Daniella asks in response. “That sounds like a lovely idea, dear.” Alicia replies, picking up the Vulpix and setting her back down. They both head downstairs and open the back door before making their way outside; Daniella smiles as the warm sun and the crisp air greet her once again, grabbing her mother’s hand as they start walking to the garden. Once they step inside it, Alicia picks Daniella up and sits on the wooden bench before setting her daughter onto her lap. The Alolan Ninetales looks down at Daniella and warmly smiles at her, causing the Vulpix to smile in return as she looks up at her mother. Only the sounds of the light breeze and the rustling trees could be heard while they sat down and observed the garden, but it was fine this way, for no words needed to be said when Daniella was happy enough being in the company of her mother. The garden that Daniella once used as an escape from her mother’s strict mannerisms was now a place for family to spend much needed time with each other; although there were bound to be more bumps in the road, this signaled the start of better things to come for the once overbearing mother and her dear little daughter.
