Most creatures were in bed at five in the morning, with the exception of the person writing this story, and a cat anthro that awoke in the middle of the night. Luna awoke slowly and smacked his lips. Normally, either a person woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, or they were sick. In Luna's case, he had an incredible thirst that he couldn't explain. He knew he drank a bit of water before he went to bed, so there was no way he should have been as thirsty as he was. Luna walked into the bathroom and grabbed a tiny paper cup. He turned on the sink and got himself some water. He opened up his mouth and drank. The water was freezing, tasteless, but acceptable for how late it was. The moment he finished drinking it, he was ready to throw away the cup, but he paused. "Still thirsty." He mumbled. He wondered if he should just go into the kitchen and get a glass of something, but he wanted to go back to bed as soon as possible. Luna refilled the paper cup and drank a bit more. He heard the birds chirp outside and groaned. 'Feeling hot.' He thought to himself. He rubbed the top of his head and felt sweat. He thought maybe he was coming down with something, but he wasn't sure what kind of illness made someone so thirsty late at night. Part of him wanted to just put his mouth underneath the tub faucet and drink from there. 'Okay. Let's just...let's take some aspirin with this.' He refilled the paper cup and took two white pills with his next gulp of water. Luna knew the aspirin would take some time. He looked at himself in the mirror above the sink, and his eyes widened. His face didn't look pale, but it instead looked blue underneath his dark feline fur. "Wait...blue?" He noticed bits of fur on his cheek shed down onto the white sink below him. "I'm definitely getting sick. I have...I have..." He began to breathe heavily. He couldn't help himself. He rushed into the bathtub and turned the water on. He started it on cold with a hint of hot, just enough so that he could tolerate it, and put his mouth underneath the running water. Luna didn't care that his clothes got wet. He didn't just feel thirsty, but his skin felt incredibly dry. He knew he should have been worried about his fur shedding and revealing blue underneath, as his skin was definitely 'not' blue underneath his fur, and a light blue especially, but he had to solve this issue about his extreme thirst first. 'Why is it...why is it so bad?' He thought to himself. He couldn't say anything aloud with the water above him that felt as if it poured constantly down his mouth, yet he still felt so thirsty. Luna felt the tub slowly fill with water as he continued to drink. He knew he should have been worried over getting so wet, but he could dry off later. He didn't even plug the drain, though his bare furry foot was near it. He heard a light splash as his tail waved up and down between his legs, but the splash didn't sound quite right to his ears. He raised his head up, and gasped. Luna's once slim tail thickened and turned the same color as his cheeks. His tail also looked as if it had a spaded tip at the end, and he knew it shouldn't have been that way before. He rolled onto his front. He was about to stand up, but he didn't feel as if he had the energy to do so. "What? My tail shouldn't look like that." He still felt so thirsty, but the water against his hands and feet made him feel so much better. Part of him just wanted to live in the tub, but he knew there was something tremendously wrong about that. "What's happening to meeeeon?" He couldn't help himself with the cry at the end. It didn't sound like a feline anthro feline that he was, but something feral, and not at all feline. Luna stayed in the tub for a bit longer. He knew he'd have to do something about his clothes, but he had other problems. He stood up in the tub as the water continued to run and looked down at his sagging wet shirt. He noticed more light blue underneath his shedding fur and gave it a curious poke. 'It feels like scales.' He thought to himself. He wondered if maybe he was transforming into a fish, but that couldn't have been possible. There was no rationale as to why he would be changing! The cat anthro walked out of the tub and turned it off. He still felt so thirsty, hot, and dry, but if it was the water transforming him, then he didn't want to be in it any more. "Whatever is changing me, I have to stop it." He said with a raspy voice. "Uhnn..eon!" he gasped. He grabbed onto his shirt and tried to pull it up, but it felt as if the wet shirt made him stronger because it was soaking wet. 'Need...water. But I can't give in.' He felt like a fish out of water. His fur continued to shed and reveal light blue scales underneath. He felt his shirt rise up on his back and turned to see dark blue scales push up from his spine from his head, all the way down to the tail that split into a fin. "I'm beeeeon! I'm becoming a vaporeon!" Luna couldn't hold back releasing an alien language that he understood at the same time, but only because he was changing into that water type creature. 'Need...more water.' He thought to himself. He glanced back at his bedroom across the hall and he saw a faint glowing object on his nightstand. He thought if he could reach his phone before it's too late, but he felt so faint already, and he barely left the tub. 'How do vaporeons even deal with this outside of water? Or maybe I need a certain amount of water before I can go or something.' He wasn't sure what the explanation was, nor was he even sure why he transformed in the first place. He inched backwards to the water and he felt his long tail splash in the water left in the tub. Luna couldn't take it. He got back into the tub and turned the water on. His clothes felt hot on him though, even in the water. He slipped off his shirt and revealed feral vapreon scales underneath. He panted heavily and put his head up against the rim of the tub as the water ran. The thirst began to subside, but he still felt so hot. He looked down at his pants as his legs shrank inside of them. "Help! Heeellleeeon!" He struggled to speak his own language the more he changed. Luna looked over back at the phone. He wanted to do something to reach it, anything. Suddenly, he felt a surge of water fill his mouth. He felt fins at the side of his face widen as he shot a spurt of water that went directly into his room and landed directly on his phone. "Vapore gun!" (Water Gun!) He said aloud with shock. He couldn't see his face transform, but he knew it all too well just by feeling what was happening he was no longer feline, but instead turning into a Pokemon. Luna turned in a circle as his spine popped to reshape him into a quadruped form. He saw from tail to as far as his chest he was a Vaporeon, and a feral one at that. He couldn't even move his fingers as they fused together into big paws. 'Now what do I do?' He thought to himself. He couldn't get to his phone, and even if he did, he likely destroyed it with his water gun. 'I guess being a Pokemon can't be that bad, but I'm stuck in this tub.' He remembered the vaporeon abilities to transform into water, and then he looked down at the tub drain. If he could transform into water, he'd go right down the drain, and he had no idea where he'd end up from there! Luna had to consider his options. He wasn't even sure if he could transform into water in the first place, although he did have the water gun attack. He noticed the water continued to run from the tub, and by now, it was almost at the point where it was overflowing. He could walk out of the tub on the water if it overflowed, but he wasn't sure how far he could just by walking on a wet floor. Moreover, it might wreck many of his things if he couldn't stop the water, not that he could stop it easily anyways. 'I guess there really only is one option.' He thought to himself. His tail tapped the drain and flipped it open. He watched as some water leaked down there, and with a deep breath, he felt himself melt into water himself. He didn't think about how he did it, just that he could do it was enough. 'Here goes nothing. Please end up somewhere good!' He mentally prayed as his aquatic form went down the drain. Luna felt as if he were in a compressed waterslide, except he had more control over himself in the water. Moving back felt difficult, but not impossible, and it was much easier to move forward. Darkness surrounded him as he went down the drain, and he traveled at high speed, faster than he ever felt. It would have been an amazing feeling were he not so frightened over where he would go. Luna wasn't sure how long it had been, or how far he travelled. He felt himself surrounded by water, but he still kept his 'eyes' closed, even though his entire body was water. He still had his nose, and while he smelled a bit of the sewer, it wasn't overwhelming. 'Am I underground? Am I in the sewer system? The water feels clean, even if I don't.' He thought to himself. He opened one eye and noticed clear water surrounded him. He opened up his other eye, and then looked up. He was underwater and not far from a beach on a bright sunny day. He knew he should have been worried over breathing, but he was now completely a feral vaporeon after all. Breathing underwater was something vaporeons did. Luna shifted back to a physical form and swam up to the top of the water. As he stuck his head out, he noticed there were a lot more pokemon in the world than there was before. He could only wonder what happened, and where he ended up, but he had all the time in the world to figure it out. Changing into a vaporeon was a rush, quite literally, and now he just wanted to relax under the water. 'This doesn't feel so bad honestly. The view underneath the water is beyond amazing. Besides, now I don't have to go to college anymore!' He thought with a faint smile.
