Three years ago... Nick and Jake were hanging out at their best friends' house, getting ready to spend the night. Their friends were another pair of brothers, Jason and Joseph, who lived across the street from them. Nick and Jason had been friends for years at this point, and their younger brothers ended up becoming friends as well due to their two families spending so much time together. Sleepovers were pretty common between the four boys, but this time Jake was starting to raise a fuss... "But I don't wanna!" The five year old fox boy cried out, as they were all crowded in Jason and Joseph's bedroom. "Jake, you have to." his older brother commanded while holding a diaper in his hand. "I'm pretty sure Joseph doesn't want you peeing in his bed. And me and Jason definitely don't want you leaking through the top bunk." "But diapers are for babies! I'm not a baby!" Jason was a little puzzled. Jake didn't usually act like this when it was time for him to get changed for bed. So he turned to Nick and asked, "What's up with him?" Nick sighed, "I don't know man, he's been like this all week. I guess he found out that most kids his age don't wear diapers any more." Joseph stepped in to try and console his friend, "Hey, it's okay. Nobody thinks you're a baby." "Well then how come I'm the only one who has to wear a diaper?" "Because you're the only one who wets the bed." Nick snapped back at him. "Now quit whining and come with me to get changed." "But I don't wanna wear it! I'm not a baby!" Nick was reaching his boiling point. "Well you sure are acting like one!" Tears welled up in Jake's eyes as he began to cry even harder. Joseph couldn't stand to watch, so he tried to think of a way to make him feel better. He rummaged through Nick and Jake's bag until he found Jake's spare diaper. After quietly pulling it out, he crept out of the room. Jason turned to Nick once again. "Dude, I don't think yelling at him is helping." Nick threw his hands up. "Well I don't know what else to do! He has to wear it whether he wants to or not." He sighed again, then walked over to his brother. "Jake, get up. We're going to the bathroom to get you changed." "No!" "Jake!" Nick grabbed him by the arm and yanked him to his feet. "I don't care if you don't want to wear it, you're going to get changed!" As Jake continued to blubber and whine, the bedroom door opened and Joseph quietly slipped back in. In a shy voice, he called to his friend. "Um, hey Jake..." The other three boys stopped what they were doing and turned around to look at him. Joseph was blushing as he stood at the end of the bedroom, wearing nothing but his t-shirt and one of Jake's diapers. "PFFTHAHAHA!" Jason was bewildered by his brother's appearance. "Joseph, what do you think you're doing? Go take that off." "I just wanted to make Jake feel better, so he wouldn't be the only one wearing one." "Dude, come on, you're like seven years old now. You don't need diapers. Go put your underwear back on." But Joseph continued to stand his ground for the sake of his friend. It appeared to be working, as Jake wiped the tears from his eyes and started calming down. Still, Jason wasn't happy about having a big baby for a brother. "Moooooooooom!" he called out, "Joseph's wearing a diaper!" Their mom came walking down the hall. "What's all the-" But she froze up once she came in and saw what her youngest son was wearing. "...Uh, Joseph? You want to step outside and talk with me for a bit?" Joseph followed his mom out the door, and once they were in the hallway she asked him, "Do you mind telling me why you're wearing a diaper?" "Um, Jake didn't want to put his diaper on, so I put one on to make him feel better." "Jake has accidents at night. He needs them, you don't." She paused,"...Right? You're not having any problems, are you?" Joseph shook his head, "No, I just don't want Jake to feel bad about being the only one who has to wear one." "Joseph, I didn't spend all that time getting you potty-trained just for you to go back to wearing diapers." "I know, but please mom! I just don't want Jake to be sad." His mom was conflicted. On one hand, she wasn't thrilled about the thought of one of her kids being back in diapers. But she also thought it was cute that he was willing to go to such lengths just to help his friend. "Well... okay. I'll let you wear it, but I have one condition: Just don't 'go' in it. I'm done with changing diapers until I get some grandkids, which better not be any time soon. You know how to use the toilet, so I expect you to keep using it." Joseph's face lit up, "Okay, I can do that!" His mom sighed and then laughed. "Alright then, well you can go back to playing now." Joseph headed back into the bedroom and was met with his brother looking at him. "Well?" "Mom said I could wear it." Jason's face scruched up, "Seriously?" Nick turned back to his younger brother. "There, see? Joseph's wearing a diaper too. They're not just for babies. So can we please go put yours on now?" Jake looked at his friend and, for the first time since they started getting ready for bed, smiled. He got up and followed his brother as he left the room. Joseph smiled as well, since it looked like his plan had worked. But Jason was still staring at him in disbelief. "I can't beleive you're actually going to wear that." he scoffed. "But I guess if it gets them two to stop arguing..." A minute later, Nick and Jake came back into the room, now with Jake in his diaper. He excitedly ran over to Joseph to play with his fellow diaper pal, while his older brother flopped down beside Jason and let out a sigh of relief. "I'm glad that's over with." "I guess both of us have brothers who wear diapers now." Jason replied as he watched their younger siblings play. "Haha, yeah." Nick laughed, "At least you don't have to change yours." --- Now that it was getting late, Jake and Joseph climbed up on the top bunk to get ready for bed. They got under the covers and laid down next to each other. Jake didn't seem like he was bothered by his nightwear any more, in fact it looked like he was all-smiles. "Hey Joseph... Thanks." Joseph smiled back and hugged him close. Now that everything had calmed down and the two of them were settled down to sleep, he felt so relaxed. It was a little weird to be wearing a diaper, but it also made him feel strangely safe. He reached down and rubbed the outside of it, pushing on the padding between his legs. There was something about it that was just so comfortable... He actually kind of liked it.
