Episode 19 - Dharkon's World / Ooops, Writer's Blocked!

Previously on BIT Squad; The opening of Smash Bros Ultimate happened, and though most of BIT Squad also attempted to stop Galeem, they too were vaporized and reduced to spirits, all except 2BIT himself....and Gator and Blocky, who aren't invited to this story. In the new World of Light, 2BIT found Cupie's spirit trapped in the body of a Pit alt, and Dusk's spirit trapped in the body of a Shulk alt. However, they maintained control of themselves rather than succumbing to Galeem's will. Dusk had a Shulk-vision and led them to a place where enemies were planning to ambush Kirby. Upon defeating them, 2BIT ended up being followed by Waluigi's spirit as he set out to find the rest of BIT Squad and discover a way to defeat the seemingly unstoppable Galeem...

Well, weeks have passed. For some reason, there's no sign of the rest of BIT Squad although 2BIT gathered a number of other spirits that just didn't get to be in the story for some reason. Also, that whole thing about Galeem being unstoppable? Yeah, Kirby gathered a smaller, definitely weaker band of heroes together, marched on Galeem, and defeated it no problem. It didn't bother busting out its apocalyptic move again. This is some masterwork of plot, huh? Unfortunately, doing that enabled another evil to just come out of nowhere for no reason and create a World of Darkness. This being, Dharkon, seems like an even bigger threat... but sure, it's gonna be pretty much the same as Galeem. But maybe BIT Squad is somewhere in the World of Darkness...


Within the world of darkness, 2BIT's group somehow found themselves in a version of Hyrule. "Yaay! There's a pretty forest!" Cupie smiled. "You mean the Lost Woods?" Dusk sighed, "Then again, he stayed upbeat going through the ruins of Station Square..." he murmured. The spirit of Knuckles hovered beside him. "Not sure that was Station Square. I mean, sure, there's evidence Chaos was there, but it looked like a pretty generic ruined city." he stated. 2BIT shushed them. "I'm trying to think...so keep Waluigi occupied. I was talking to this owl statue while you guys were discussing unimportant plot points, and it told me a legendary hero is in this kingdom somewhere. Gotta be Link, right? And he was with Kirby... So, we'll finally catch up to the main group! Together, finding the rest of the squad and beating Dharkon should be a breeze!" he figured. "I was thinking Sonic when you said legendary hero, but okay. Nobody's found Sonic yet, have they?" Knuckles asked. Dusk crossed his arms. "If Kirby finds Sonic first, we'll never catch up..." he groaned. "Hey! I found Big the Cat!" Cupie cried. The group glanced in the direction of the Lost Woods. "He went in..." 2BIT sighed. "Wah ha ha!! It's Waluigi's time to shine!!" shouted Waluigi as he pushed past Knuckles! Or...through him, seeing as they were spirits. 2BIT sighed. "Noooo, we need someone who knows Hyrule. Anyone speak horse? All we got's Epona..." he said awkwardly.


"2BIT! Cupie! Dusk! Stop playing with your toys and get back to work!" Vixy was standing over the boys. They were in the figurine room in Byte Space, holding a mix of amiibo and general toys. It would really break the multiverse if they were doing this with the magical figurines. 2BIT glanced at Vixy sheepishly. "B-but we have to finish the story! We'll get through the lost woods, but Kirby's already absconded with Link and Sonic, so our legendary hero ends up being, wait for it... Banjo-Kazooie!" he said with a big ear-to-ear grin. Vixy tapped her foot. "It's been months and you've left me in charge all this time. Play time is done, back to your responsibilities!" she huffed. Dusk folded his arms. "You know, if I were cynical, I would say Vixy walking in like this is a copout to disguise the fact that we hit writer's block on this story for months and someone decided to give up on it..." he murmured. Cupie flew up and tossed up the Waluigi amiibo before catching it. "Obviously, it was gonna end with Waluigi and Banjo teaming up to beat up 8BIT while we moved on to the epic final battle from World of Light, and we'd get there just in time to watch Mario and Sonic and everyone save the day before all the spirits are whizzed back home!" he said playfully. 2BIT sighed. "Well, that can't be too far off. But my power would ensure the spirits actually got home. I don't like the ambiguity of the spirits swirling through space!" he pointed out as he stood up. "You sillies... It's just a game." Vixy sighed, "It's not like it really matters how the game ended..." she told them as she led the group out of the room.


They passed one of Byte Space's windows, the vastness of space visible outside. If one looked closely though, they would realize that one nebula in the distance was actually comprised of lost spirits tumbling through space. Dusk did a double take as they passed by. "Uhhhh, guuuuuuys…" he murmured. They each took a better look and gulped. "This is gonna be a few long weekends, isn't it..." Vixy groaned. "Never call anything 'just a game' ever again." 2BIT growled. "I'll go get some gear from the Phantom Fighter's world!" Cupie said with unwavering enthusiasm. "How exactly do we save them if they don't have bodies anymore?" Dusk asked. 2BIT glanced at the Pit amiibo he was still carrying. "The smash spirits are just from a world of figures anyway, right? We need a biiiig 3D printer and we need a lot of them..." he suggested. Vixy nodded. "I'll get Stripes on the orders and Zed on the designs..." 

Stripes and Zed looked a bit grouchy. "...So, we've essentially been written out of this story because of writer's block?" Zed growled. "I'd be fine if I could take a nap but you want me on ebay all night now...grrr…" Stripes groaned.

2BIT, Cupie and Vixy had quite a time flying through space with jetpacks retrofitted into the borrowed PCDs from the Phantom Fighter's world. The Ghostbusters' theme blared in 2BIT's helmet as he used the machine to suck up spirit after spirit. "Cupie, you grab Tails, I just don't have the heart to confine his spirit... Ohh, excuse me, I have a score to settle with Baby Bowser... You @%#& Legend Spirit!!" he shouted, flying after him. "Gotta catch 'em all, Pok-ey-mon..." Vixy mumbled as she worked.

Finally, the spirits were brought to the world of trophies, where Blocky transported the 3D printed custom amiibos of each and every spirit. "Did we really need one for the Super Mushroom? Look, there goes one now!" Dusk pointed as they prepared to expel the spirits caught in the PCD containment units into the giant amiibos. "If this doesn't work, I'm coming for you, Sakurai..." 2BIT mumbled, firing off the first spirit. Naturally, they started with Waluigi's amiibo, because of course they did. The squad gathered around as his eyes began to open. "Yaaay! Now say Wah!" Gator smiled. "Wah, what? What are you talking about, dumb human? ...WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME!?!?" to everyone's utter shock, the voice of Viridi was coming from Waluigi. "Uhhhh… What order did we suck up those spirits in, anyway?" 2BIT said nervously. "You idiots!! How can you do this to the Goddess of Nature!? You fix this right now! Right now you flesh bags! Or I'll... I'll get my Forces of Nature after you!!" she shouted. Needless to say, finishing this job properly would take a while... But they would get it done. See you in another few months I guess!

…(Be honest, 2BIT, you don't have writer's block at all! You just didn't want to do 3 chapters as originally planned!)… Ahhhh, well, I'm sorry if you were hoping for an epic conclusion. This has always been a comedy series, anyway...
